Montevideo, Uruguay- Virtual<\/strong><\/h4>

La ORT International Case Competition (ORTICC) es el primer concurso internacional de casos de negocios en Uruguay y su 4\u00aa edici\u00f3n se realiz\u00f3 en formato virtual del 19 al 24 de septiembre del 2021. Esta competencia prueba la capacidad de los participantes para identificar el problema central de una situaci\u00f3n gerencial y recomendar soluciones coherentes para el negocio, con un plan de implementaci\u00f3n s\u00f3lido y viabilidad financiera.\u00a0<\/p>

Ocho equipos pertenecientes a la Universidad ORT, Barna Management School (BARNA), FIA \u2013 Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Instituto de Administra\u00e7\u00e3o, ESPAE Graduate School of Management y la Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), formaron parte del evento. La facultad de Administraci\u00f3n de la Universidad de los Andes estuvo representada por dos equipos compuestos por siete estudiantes de diferentes semestres del MBA, quienes, durante las rondas eliminatorias, contaban con un tiempo limitado para prepararse y luego presentar ante un jurado de gerentes y propietarios de negocios experimentados soluciones creativas y realizables para el caso expuesto.<\/p>

Sustainability in Iceland- Virtual<\/strong><\/h4>

Los IB Agility Labs son desaf\u00edos de casos virtuales a corto plazo que permiten a los estudiantes de pregrado aprender de los l\u00edderes empresariales globales y colaborar con pares internacionales. Los estudiantes se beneficiar\u00e1n de la exposici\u00f3n a una empresa internacional, trabajan en equipos con estudiantes de negocios de todo el mundo, obteniendo experiencia pr\u00e1ctica en casos.<\/p>

Durante esta edici\u00f3n, el IB Agility Lab se realiz\u00f3 de manera completamente virtual e incluy\u00f3 sesiones sincr\u00f3nicas y asincr\u00f3nicas, donde los estudiantes se adaptaron al trabajo en diferentes zonas horarias, como parte de la realidad de hacer negocios a trav\u00e9s de las fronteras.\u00a0<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Students of the Master’s program in Supply Chain Management won the Linneaus-Palme scholarship for a 20-week exchange program in Sweden at the J\u00f6nk\u00f6ping International Business School.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The Linnaeus-Palme program aims to improve the quality of higher education by integrating global perspectives into the learning process.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Adicionalmente, la beca Linneaus-Palme le permiti\u00f3 a\u00a0Duncan Levinsohn<\/strong>, profesor asistente en J\u00f6nk\u00f6ping International Business School, visitar durante 2 semanas la Facultad de Administraci\u00f3n de la Universidad de los Andes. Durante esta visita, adem\u00e1s de reunirse con m\u00e1s de 7 profesores y administrativos de la Facultad y la Universidad para discutir diversos temas de investigaci\u00f3n, docencia y estrategia, el profesor particip\u00f3 en 4 m\u00f3dulos de cursos de diferentes programas:<\/u><\/u><\/p>

    IB Agility Labs are short-term virtual case challenges that allow undergraduate students to learn from global business leaders and collaborate with international peers. Students will benefit from exposure to an international company, work in teams with business students worldwide, and gain hands-on case experience.<\/span><\/p>

    During this edition, the IB Agility Lab was conducted entirely virtually. It included synchronous and asynchronous sessions, where students adapted to working in different time zones as part of the reality of doing business across borders.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    A program that allowed Universidad de los Andes school of Management students take virtual courses at the accredited universities HEC Montr\u00e9al (Canada) and INSPER (Brazil). And two students from HEC Montr\u00e9al articipated in 2 courses of the Undergraduate in Management program.<\/span><\/p>

    During last edition, the program had four undergraduate students from the school participating: 3 participated in courses at HEC Montr\u00e9al and 1 at INSPER. In 2022-1 these students toke the second course of the program. If these two courses are approved, they may be homologated by compulsory or elective courses of the Undergraduate in Management. This virtual mobility option also allows students to fulfill the experience of the international requirement of Universidad de los Andes School of Management.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    The Humlog Challenge is an international virtual competition that seeks to develop local solutions to problems related to humanitarian logistics. Teams are expected to field 2-4 students from different disciplines and school levels (undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D.) in this competition. They must develop a unique, creative, and implementable solution that can be used in a locally relevant context to an issue related to a natural disaster in their geographic region and address the community’s preparedness, response, and resilience level.<\/span><\/p>

    In the 2021 edition, more than 113 teams participated, consisting of 420 students from more than 38 business schools across 21 countries. We highlight the work done by the team Stellenbosch and Universidad de los Andes, formed by one of our students Juan Pablo Borda, who developed a solution to the drought-induced water shortage in the informal settlement of Xakabantu in the Western Cape. Their work made the top six finalists.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    Race to Imagine International aims to facilitate the exchange of impact stories from different perspectives: students, teachers, and leaders from different institutions and professionals from government and civil society share their experiences within their local community, addressing different challenges.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    This event broke down barriers to give way to imagination and innovation on issues related to the future of health leadership, mitigating deforestation, fighting climate change, and implementing human rights in complex environments.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    A call for active MBA students from the Universidad de los Andes School of Management.<\/b><\/p>

    The GoTrade GBSN Fellowship Program seeks to match master’s students with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from developing countries globally. The goal is to strengthen and expand trade across borders to enhance their sustainable and inclusive growth and increase their global presence. The program also seeks to create meaningful learning experiences for students who will benefit from learning with SMEs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    Through virtual sessions and meetings with mentors and experts, international trade concepts will be strengthened in practice during the consultancy. Each student will be assigned an SME to mentor for 12 months, starting in March 2022, and will spend an estimated 12 to 15 hours per month. Depending on the severity of the pandemic, a trip to the SME’s country of origin would be scheduled for 1-2 weeks.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    For the first time, Universidad de los Andes School of Management participated in the International Credit Mobility Program financed by Erasmus. This program encourages the mobility of students, professors and staff with associated universities for short periods of time. In the 2021-2023 period, professors Sebastian Schorch, Maximiliano Gonz\u00e1lez and Andr\u00e9s Barrios had the opportunity to visit NOVA School of Business and Economics in Portugal for a week and strengthen the relationship with the school for strategic issues. Some of these are: the implementation of the CEMS program, the Double Degree for the International Master in Finance and joint research and cooperation activities. Similarly, the school received a visit from two members of the NOVA SBE staff, who had the opportunity to share internationalization and Executive Education good practices. This experience constitutes a great opportunity to promote the exchange of knowledge and the development of strategic alliances in administrative and teaching issues.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    Global Village<\/a><\/p>

    is a leadership program organized by The Lacocca Institute at Lehigh University (Pennsylvania, United States). The school finances the participation of undergraduate students for more than 15 years.<\/span><\/p>

    In 2022, the Global Village was offered in a virtual and in person format for 5 weeks, more than 80 students, professionals and businessmen from more than 35 countries met. The participants had the opportunity to develop leadership skills and business knowledge, which allowed them to face global challenges in changing environments, working collaboratively with various sectors, disciplines, and cultures.<\/span><\/p>

    <\/p>

    Since its creation in 1997, more than 38 Colombian students have participated in this experience. Of these students, 16 have been financed by the school. Students could live and work within a truly global community by carrying out consulting projects for various international organizations, participating in leadership and community service workshops, and mentoring spaces with professors, businessmen, and global leaders.<\/span><\/p>

    This experience allows meet new cultures and build a global network of colleagues, mentors, and global friends for life, while promoting in the villagers a new vision of what leadership means in the future.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    Every year, Universidad de los Andes School of Management offers undergraduate and graduate students the possibility of participating in international weeks at worldwide universities. This type of experience allows the student to consolidate their knowledge in a specific field of management, interact with other professors and students, and learn first-hand about the operation of local and multinational companies through conferences, visits, business experiences, and academic sessions. During the months of June and July, 62 students from the school participated in the following weeks:<\/span><\/p>
