The course ‘Sustainable Business Models – Challenges and Future Tendencies’ aims to explore and discuss the many facets of emerging, innovative business models and related concepts such as the shared economy (e.g. Uber), micro-financing (e.g. Grameen Bank) and the extensive use of social networks (e.g. Airbnb), which stand behind the success of both an increasing number of start-ups and an array of innovative multinational enterprises. While the special focus of the course is on issues related to sustainability, the skills obtained as a result of the intensive, practice -oriented work during the course can benefit anyone with an interest in business modeling and the potential ways of doing business in the future.
Gyula Zilahy is Associate Professor at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, and Senior Research fellow of the Institute of Advanced Studies, Kőszeg. He holds a PhD in Management Sciences from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration (2003). He has been guest lecturer at St. Gallen University and ESADE Business School.
His teaching topics include the management of responsible organizations, sustainable business models and the implications of climate change on businesses. He has served as the Vice Dean for International Affairs and Research at the Faculty of Business Administration of the Corvinus University of Budapest.
