Bogotá, July 2023 – Universidad de los Andes School of Management was granted for the second consecutive time the international re-accreditation from EQUIS for a maximum period of five years. This re-accreditation comes after a rigorous quality evaluation process and recognizes the culture of continuous improvement and quality of UASM’s teaching processes, impactful research, and the advances in internationalization.
According to EFMD, the pivotal elements for this distinction are attributed to the fact that the School has advanced in its internationalization processes, has stood out on strengthening the culture of impactful research, as well as the innovative design of its academic and Executive Education programs. All this in addition to the School’s commitment to the implementation of a strategic plan focused on continuous improvement processes that are aligned with the fulfillment of the mission outlined in that plan.
“The digital transformation implemented in the academic and Executive Education programs, as well as the pedagogical processes that have been incorporated into the School’s education model, complement the immersive and practical experiences that are recognized by employers, students, and the international academic community. We are committed to providing excellent education from Colombia to the world, and training leaders for life who are committed to build the country -in Colombia or overseas- by being extraordinary citizens and professionals”,
said Veneta Andonova, Dean of Universidad de los Andes School of Management.
The EQUIS accreditation is one of the three most prestigious global credentials used to assess the quality of education in management and business schools. In Colombia, Universidad de los Andes School of Management is the only school with this recognition, which was obtained for the first time in 2003, for a period of three years. Since then, the School has been granted EQUIS accreditation for five consecutive times. In 2018 the School was accredited for a maximum period of five years; and now in 2023 it was reaccredited for 5 more years. This five-year recognition is only granted to a select group of schools that represent 30% of the business schools accredited by EQUIS worldwide and only four schools in Latin America (Fundação Getulio Vargas in Brazil, the Business School of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, EGADE Business School in Mexico, and Universidad de los Andes School of Management in Colombia).
Universidad de los Andes School of Management is the only Colombian institution that currently holds the “Triple Crown”, a recognition held by one percent of business schools worldwide. In Latin America only eight institutions are part of this group. The Triple Crown refers to the three most prestigious accreditations that evaluate business school´s quality and continuous improvement: AMBA (Association of MBA’s), AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business) and EQUIS. This hallmark guarantees the high quality of the institution in teaching, research and knowledge construction processes with a positive impact on organizations and society.
