The School of Management at the Universidad de los Andes in collaboration with a series of partners: Autoridad Nacional de Acuicultura y Pesca (AUNAP), WWF, HTW Berlin and with strong support from local communities; especially Consejo Comunitario Esfuerzo Pescador in Iscuandé, Nariño and Consejo Comunitario la Plata in Bahia Malaga is currently evaluating the technical feasibility, analysing business models and calculating the environmental and social benefits of converting different transport activities towards electromobility. This article gives impressions from the ongoing activities and field research to show the applicability of this mobility option for artisinal fishing, clam collection, eco-tourism, capacity building and nautical training as well as social services, i.e school boats.
