The challenges that organizations are facing today are completely different from those in the 70s’ and 80s’. Tackling fast changes and learning processes are the most challenging problems modern knowledge managers face. Today’s environment challenges (Knowledge Management and Organizational Learning) – global competition, ethical issues, rapid advance in IT technologies, increasing employee demands for creative work and opportunities for personal and professional development – require different responses from organizations.
Patterns used in the past, do not satisfy the needs of today’s organizations. The course will explore new concepts in order to successfully manage a modern learning company.
Vlado Dimovski is Full Professor of Management and Organizational Theory at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He holds a PhD in Management and Finance from Cleveland State University (1994) He has been State Secretary for Industry (1995-1997), president of the Center for International Competitiveness (1997-2005), and Minister of Labor, Family and Social Affairs in the Government of Slovenia (2000-2004).
His research interests include organizational learning, leadership, competitiveness and knowledge management. Throughout his career, he has received several awards like the Harvard Directory of Scholars (1993).
