Accreditations

The excellence and high-quality standards of Universidad de los Andes School of Management have allowed it to attain the most important national and international recognition in management education.

At the international level, the School has obtained the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), and AMBA (Association of MBAs) accreditation.

These three accreditations, also known as “the triple crown,” are considered the most important and recognized credentials, placing the School among the 1% of Business Schools worldwide with this recognition.

Currently, less than 5% of the world’s business schools have this accreditation. By 2021 there will be 910 accredited institutions, representing a total of 58 countries worldwide.

This accreditation confirms the commitment of business schools to quality and continuous improvement. It recognizes differentiating aspects of their academic and research activity, human resources, mission orientation, learning assurance, and appropriate curriculum management.

In 2003 the School of Management attained the EQUIS international accreditation granted by the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development). EQUIS is an international system for the evaluation and improvement of the quality of institutions of higher education in business and administration. It comprehensively evaluates all the programs of Business Schools.

In Latin America, there are only 13 institutions accredited by EQUIS. In 2018 the School was reaccredited for a period of five (5) years.

In 2004 the Faculty’s Masters of Administration programs were accredited for the first time by the Association of MBAs for five (5) years. In 2015 the Faculty was again reaccredited for a further five years. This accreditation is recognized as the global standard for MBA programs. By 2021, there are only 260 AMBA-accredited business schools in 75 countries.

In 2012, the Undergraduate Program in Administration obtained the maximum accreditation of high quality for ten (10) years, granted by the National Accreditation Commission. In turn, the Master’s in Administration programs received High-Quality Accreditation (Voluntary) for the maximum period granted.

Preparing for and achieving these international accreditations has represented an invaluable learning process in the life of the School. Thanks to this, significant changes have been made in strategies and processes, and a culture of self-evaluation has been created, allowing us to develop a “critical view” of the institution. Finally, the accreditations have made the School more visible and have allowed it to position itself internationally as a high-quality School. This, in turn, has facilitated the building of various relationships with institutions worldwide in research, teaching, and academic exchanges.
