The School of Management at the University of Los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) seeks applications to fill a full-time position at the assistant professor level in the Marketing Area of the School. About the School:
Universidad de los Andes School of Management is located in Bogota, Colombia. It is one of the ten constitutive academic schools within Universidad de los Andes (Uniandes), its parent institution. Uniandes is a private, non-profit, non-denominational university founded in 1948. As of October 2022, the University has a total of 725 core faculty, 14,392 students at the undergraduate level, 4,429 at the graduate level and 435 at the doctoral level. Currently the School of Management has 73 core faculty, 90% hold a Doctoral degree and 26% are foreigners. The School of Management at the University of Los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) seeks applications to fill a full-time position at the assistant or associate professor level in the Organizations Area of the School. This call will prioritize candidates with research and teaching experience in the fields of organizational behaviour and/or leadership. Preference will be given to candidates with: a strong commitment to research in the fields above, demonstrated by a record of publication in high-quality peer-reviewed journals; willingness to provide institutional commitment or service within the Faculty and externally; and engagement in the design, delivery, and assessment of courses taught at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Universidad de los Andes School of Management (UASM henceforth) is located in Bogota, Colombia. It is one of the ten constitutive academic schools within Universidad de los Andes (Uniandes), its parent institution. Uniandes is a private, non-profit, non-denominational university founded in 1948. As of June 2022, the University has a total of 737 core faculty, 14,243 students at the undergraduate level, 3,921 at the graduate level and 387 at the doctoral level.. Uniandes is positioned 236 in the QS 2022 ranking and 8th within Latin America.
Currently UASM has a total of 70 core faculty. Of these 90% hold a Doctoral degree. It has a consolidated portfolio with a variety of programmes at the Undergraduate (1,263 students), Graduate (988 students) and Executive Education level (9,143 participants in 2021). The school is positioned 3rd within Latin America in the QS Business and Management Studies ranking.

The faculty at the Management and Public Policy Unit are 10 men and women, with disciplinary backgrounds coming from development studies, economics, economic history, economics and management of technology, engineering, history, political science and sociology. They are American, Argentinian, Italian, Peruvian and Colombian.
Unit scholars have produced publications in academic journals such as Organization Science, Research Policy, Review of Economic Studies, Business History, Business History Review, Journal of Economic History, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Labor Economics as well as in books or book chapters published by Oxford University Press, Brill, Edward Elgar, Palgrave and Harvard Business School pedagogical case studies. They also hold co-editor positions at Business History and are part of various leading international journal editorial committees.
Faculty have held postdoctoral, visiting fellowships or associate researchers at Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northwestern University and Oxford University and have been granted prizes including Coleman prize for the Best PhD Dissertation in Business History in the United Kingdom, the Jaume Vicens Vives for a book with scientific excellence and the contribution to the field of Economics History, the Scientific Merit awarded by Argentina’s Senate and the Life-Time Achievement award of the Business History Conference. The scholars participate in research networks like the Family Business Research Network and have been funded by the BEIS-UK PACT, Inter-American Development Bank, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in addition to the Colombian and Argentinian ministries of science and technology.
The School of Management at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia seeks to hire one full-time faculty member at the assistant or associate level to strengthen its (environmental and social) Sustainability Area and make significant contributions to the group’s research, applied projects and teaching activities. The Sustainability Area aims at generating knowledge and building management capabilities (among private and public actors) consistent with sustainable development principles. Area members actively contribute to centers such as the Latin American Center for Sustainable Development Goals and the Center for Sustainable Finance, both hosted by the University.

Universidad de los Andes School of Management is one of the first schools in Latin America with an emphasis in sustainability management. From 2000 onwards, social and environmental sustainability have been prominent research topics of several leading faculty of the School. In 2008, a Master in Environmental Management (MEM) was created. The MEM was followed by the creation of a Master in Development Practice (MDP) in 2011. While both the MEM and the MDP continue to thrive, an on-line Master in Regeneration and Sustainable Development (MRSD) was successfully launched in 2021.
The Sustainability Area was formally created as a functional administrative unit of the School in 2014. The Area constitutes an interdisciplinary group that aims at generating knowledge and building management capabilities (among private and public actors) consistent with sustainable development principles. Backgrounds of group members (full time and adjunct) include management, ecology, environmental sciences, economics, engineering, geography, political science, public policy and sociology.
In addition to teaching and undertaking research on sustainability and sustainability management, faculty of the Sustainability Area have created and led a number of impactful projects. These include programs such as the Latin American Center for Sustainable Development Goals, the Center for Sustainable Finance, the Sustainable Enterprise Network Program (RedES in Spanish), an observatory of Colombia’s National Natural Park System (Parques como vamos), and a National Environmental Advocacy Forum (Foro Nacional Ambiental).
