Responding to these needs, the program reaffirms its purpose of “Leadership for Life” by focusing on academic excellence, sustainable development, innovation, internationalization, and entrepreneurship. This is complemented by student life experiences at Uniandes, creating a holistic learning journey for future leaders.
Currently, Uniandes School of Management is the only business school in Colombia with the Triple Crown accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA), guaranteeing world-class standards. Additionally, Universidad de los Andes has been recognized as the best university in the country by QS World University Rankings 2023. Rector Raquel Bernal highlights:
“One of the variables where we excel is employability and employer perception of our graduates. Around 76% of our professors hold doctoral degrees, meaning they are researchers at the forefront of knowledge creation. High-quality scientific production published in indexed journals is crucial for reputation and impact.”
The program also strengthens ties with organizations—national, multinational, NGOs, and public sector—through real case studies and consulting projects developed in class. Students receive support from the Entrepreneurship Center, which fosters entrepreneurial thinking from the first semester. This includes projects, elective courses on innovation, business plans, and coaching.
According to Forbes, six out of ten startups in Colombia are led by Uniandes alumni. In the 2021 list of the country’s top 100 entrepreneurs, 12 of the 30 highlighted ventures were founded by Uniandes graduates, and seven of the 11 upcoming unicorns also have Uniandes alumni at the helm.
Multidisciplinarity: The Key to Success
A major component of the new curriculum is multidisciplinarity, enabling students to interact with peers from other faculties and broaden their perspectives. Networking opportunities include access to over 13,700 students across the university, strengthening interpersonal skills and fostering innovative ideas.
The program also emphasizes language proficiency and international exposure through more than 40 exchange agreements and three double-degree partnerships with top global schools: Tilburg School of Economics and Management, Toulouse Business School, and Tulane University. These agreements allow students to study abroad and even complete internships internationally.
To ensure competency development, the program is supported by CASA (Learning Assurance Center), which implements and evaluates the Assurance of Learning system. Competencies include ethics, interculturality, decision-making, teamwork, innovation, and communication. Activities like “Race to Imagine” immerse students in real-world challenges, fostering collaboration and creativity.
Finally, the program aligns with Uniandes’ core values: Freedom, Integrity, Excellence, and Solidarity—empowering students to explore diverse paths and make informed decisions.
