In this context, PRME has launched the global campaign “Shape the Students Who Shape the World”, in collaboration with the United Nations General Assembly. This international effort aims to accelerate the integration of responsible leadership into the core of business and management education.
Universidad de los Andes School of Management is a proud signatory of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and has embedded this approach into its programs and activities, addressing the specific challenges and priorities of Latin America.
Professor Veneta Andonova, member of the PRME Advisory Council, plays a key role in this global initiative. From her position, she amplifies the voice of the Global South, highlighting its transformative contributions to management education:
“Transformative experiences from the Global South—such as collaborations between public and private sectors, commitment to protecting life in all its forms, dedication to peace, and the creation of opportunities for human development—represent critical areas of action and management innovation. It is imperative to recognize and celebrate these experiences and the wisdom they bring, granting them the place they deserve within the international education community.”
According to Andonova, the progress achieved in well-being and development in the South, contrasted with rising inequality and social conflicts in the North, calls for rethinking global benchmarks for responsible management education. In this process, Universidad de los Andes School of Management plays a decisive role.
The joint campaign by PRME and the UN General Assembly brings together diverse initiatives and elevates the voices of students, educators, university leaders, and professionals worldwide.
