SG-FECC is a highly competitive international academic case competition that brings together universities from around the world to solve real-world family business cases from a consulting perspective. The competition integrates strategic analysis, collaborative teamwork, and formal presentations before international judging panels under strict time constraints.
The 2026 edition featured 21 undergraduate and graduate teams from institutions across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, including Babson College, ESADE, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, University of Alberta, and University of Vermont, the host institution.
Throughout the competition, teams advanced through closed preparation rounds in which they analyzed case materials, structured strategic recommendations, and presented their proposals to a panel of judges. In this context, the Universidad de los Andes team earned first place in the first round of the Pine Division (Undergraduate League) and second place in the second round, standing out among universities from North and Latin America, although they did not advance to the final round.
The team was composed of Juanita López, Montserrat de la Ossa, and Nicolás Díaz Rodríguez, students from Universidad de los Andes School of Management, under the academic guidance of Professor Luz Elena Orozco. In addition, Nicolás Díaz Rodríguez was recognized as one of the two Best Presenters in the Pine Division, an individual distinction that underscores the team’s strong academic and communication performance.
The participation of Universidad de los Andes in SG-FECC forms part of the School’s broader internationalization efforts and reinforces its presence in leading global forums for business analysis and discussion.
