Bogotá, July 2023 – Universidad de los Andes School of Management has received EQUIS international reaccreditation for the maximum period of five years, for the second consecutive time. This recognition follows a rigorous quality evaluation process and highlights the School’s culture of continuous improvement, impactful research, and progress in internationalization.
According to EFMD, the main reasons for granting this distinction include the School’s advancements in internationalization, its strong research culture, and the innovative design of academic and Executive Education programs. These achievements align with the School’s strategic plan focused on continuous improvement and mission fulfillment.
“The digital transformation implemented in degree programs and Executive Education, along with the pedagogical processes incorporated into the School’s learning experiences, complement immersive and practical approaches recognized by employers, students, and the international academic community. We remain committed to delivering world-class education from Colombia to the world, forming leaders for life who contribute to building a better society wherever they are,”
said Veneta Andonova, Dean of Universidad de los Andes School of Management.
EQUIS accreditation is one of the three most prestigious global credentials for evaluating quality in business schools. In Colombia, Universidad de los Andes School of Management is the only institution with this recognition, first obtained in 2003 for a three-year period. Since then, it has been renewed five times. In 2018, EQUIS granted the School its first five-year reaccreditation, and now in 2023, it has been renewed for another five years.
This distinction is particularly significant because only 30% of EQUIS-accredited schools worldwide receive the maximum validity period. In Latin America, only four other institutions share this honor: Fundação Getulio Vargas (Brazil), Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile School of Management, Tecnológico de Monterrey EGADE Business School, and now Universidad de los Andes School of Management.
The School is also the only institution in Colombia with the Triple Crown, a recognition held by just 1% of business schools worldwide. In Latin America, only eight institutions belong to this select group. The Triple Crown refers to the three most important accreditations for business schools globally: AMBA (Association of MBAs), AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), and EQUIS. This seal guarantees the highest quality standards in education and research with positive impact on organizations and society.
