Simón Turner es Profesor Asociado y Director del Área de Organizaciones en la Facultad de Administración de la Universidad de los Andes, Colombia. Antes de unirse a la Universidad de los Andes, Simon fue Senior Lecturer en Política y Organización de la Salud en la Universidad de Manchester.
Ha ocupado cargos de investigación postdoctoral en el University College de Londres, el King’s College de Londres, la Escuela de Higiene y Medicina Tropical de Londres y la Universidad de Cambridge (donde sigue siendo investigador asociado en el Centro de Investigación Empresarial).
Sus intereses de investigación se centran en la aplicación de la teoría y los métodos de las ciencias sociales al estudio de la organización y la mejora de los servicios públicos, particularmente la atención médica. Hasta hace poco, fue investigador principal de un estudio financiado a nivel nacional sobre la coordinación del cambio en respuesta al Covid-19 dentro del sistema de salud Colombiano.
Su investigación ha sido publicada en revistas internacionales como Public Management Review, Public Administration, Social Policy & Administration, Social Science & Medicine, Sociology of Health & Illness, e Implementation Science. Actualmente es editor asociado de PLOS ONE (Q1 JCI, Clarivate). Imparte clases de teoría de la organización a nivel de pregrado y posgrado dentro de la facultad.
