About Maximiliano González
He is a tenured professor at the School of Management and an associate researcher at the Regional Center for Sustainable Finance since 2021. Currently, he serves as Academic Director of the Corporate Governance Studies Center (since 2022) and oversees the School’s graduate programs in Finance.
Professor González joined Universidad de los Andes in 2007 as an Associate Professor of Finance and previously served as Head of the Finance Area. Before that, he taught finance at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración (IESA) in Venezuela from 1998 to 2007.
His academic record includes 6 books and over 38 peer-reviewed articles published in international journals. He ranks among the top 10% of authors on the Social Science Research Network (SSRN) globally. On Google Scholar, his metrics include an h-index of 20, with 20 papers cited more than 20 times, and an i10-index of 26, totaling over 2,249 citations.
Professor González holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Tulane University (USA), an MBA from IESA (Venezuela), and a Bachelor’s degree in Administrative Sciences from Universidad Metropolitana (Venezuela).
