Nubia Velasco has been appointed Titular Professor at Universidad de los Andes School of Management—one of the highest distinctions a professor can achieve at the University. Only two professors from the School have earned this recognition in the past 12 years.

Professor Velasco’s appointment follows a rigorous process based on research quality, institutional contributions, and teaching evaluations provided by students.
About Professor Nubia Velasco
Her journey at Universidad de los Andes began in 1998 as a Research Assistant in the Department of Industrial Engineering. After completing her doctoral studies, she returned in 2006 as an Assistant Professor in the same department, where she remained until 2015. That year, she joined the School of Management as an Associate Professor. Between 2017 and 2022, she served as Director of the Ph.D. in Management and the Master’s in Management Research programs.
Professor Velasco holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, a Master’s in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes, and a Ph.D. in Automation and Applied Computing from Université de Nantes (France).
