Ximena Rueda, Professor at Universidad de los Andes School of Management, has been appointed Co-Chair of the latest IPBES Business and Biodiversity Assessment, alongside two other international experts, for a two-year term starting in April 2023.
This study aims to analyze the impact and dependency of businesses on biodiversity and the contributions of nature to people, as well as to identify criteria and indicators to measure these impacts effectively.
IPBES also announced the two institutions that will provide technical support for the assessment: the Alexander von Humboldt Institute (Colombia) and the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (United Kingdom).
