Universidad de los Andes School of Management Joins the CEMS Global Alliance

  • Category: General News, Master in International Management
Universidad de los Andes School of Management has announced its incorporation into CEMS Global Alliance in Management Education, recognized as one of the most prestigious international cooperations worldwide. This alliance brings together leading business schools, multinational companies, and NGOs to train global leaders through the Master in International Management (MIM) program.

“One of the School’s objectives is to provide the necessary tools to develop ethical leaders with critical thinking who can act as agents of change in their contexts. Being part of CEMS is a source of pride for us because it opens Colombia to an academic network that will allow young Colombians to acquire significant knowledge for their professional journey while showcasing our Colombian and Latin culture to the world. At the same time, we position Colombia as an educational destination for students from other CEMS institutions who may consider coming to the country to study international management,”

said Veneta Andonova, Dean of Universidad de los Andes School of Management.

The program is aimed at multilingual students seeking an international experience and professional development in global contexts. Participants complete their first semester at their home university and, in the second semester, can attend another CEMS member school in a different country. Students will also have access to exclusive courses in international strategy and leadership, skill-building seminars, and the opportunity to participate in challenging corporate projects. The program concludes with an international internship.

The Master in International Management actively leverages the Colombian context to provide unique learning experiences that complement a standard international management curriculum. First, Colombia’s economy is characterized by a wide variety of formal and informal actors, requiring a careful balance of interests. Second, the country’s geographic and natural diversity demands resilience and adaptability in all organizational activities. Third, Colombia’s cultural and economic diversity—from indigenous communities in the Amazon to highly developed areas like Bogotá or Medellín—creates a multitude of attractive markets and logics. Fourth, the widespread desire for economic and social progress (such as the peace process) offers ample opportunities to contribute to positive change. Finally, the state of competitiveness in Colombia’s economy creates potential for rapid, visible impact. Within this context, the alliance seeks to challenge conventional management assumptions.

“Current students and recent graduates will benefit from this major achievement by the School—not only because of the high academic level and skills developed during the process, but also due to the multicultural approach that understands global dynamics and promotes responsibility and empathy across cultures,”

added Andonova.

CEMS Global Alliance in Management Education brings together 34 academic institutions worldwide, more than 70 corporate partners, and seven NGOs. It has been recognized multiple times by international rankings. Today, the alumni network of the Master in International Management represents over 100 nationalities, speaks more than 60 languages, and works in more than 75 countries as corporate leaders and entrepreneurs across diverse industries.
