III.    Take the Pearson Admission Exam: This exam is not required for current or former Universidad de los Andes students, nor for those with valid GMAT or GRE scores. For other applicants, the Pearson exam is an online assessment designed to measure the fundamental skills required for high-level academic programs. The test focuses on three key areas:

  • Verbal reasoning: Assesses the candidate’s ability to understand, analyze, and draw conclusions from complex texts, as well as their ability to communicate effectively.
  • Numerical reasoning: Measures proficiency in data analysis, interpretation of graphs and tables, and the ability to solve applied mathematical problems.
  • Logical reasoning: Tests the ability to identify patterns, sequences, and to solve problems that require structured and critical thinking. The Pearson exam is a valid alternative to the GMAT or GRE and is conducted in collaboration with Universidad de los Andes.

The test is designed to ensure that candidates have the necessary skills to successfully meet the academic challenges of the program.

The Pearson Exam is coordinated through the School of Management at no cost (first attempt only). Our team will contact you to schedule the exam after you upload your admission.

VI. Attend to the personal interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a personal interview with the Academic Director (in Bogotá or via videoconference). If you are an international student, please note that:

  • Foreign students who are going to study in Colombia must have a Student Visa (Type V) or another type of Visa that allows them to study.
  • The visa must be presented to the Admissions and Registration Office (window 4), or sent to extranjerosuniandes@uniandes.edu.co 1  to fulfill this legal requirement.
  • It is important to complete this process before printing your tuition receipt.
  • Current Colombian law requires that foreign nationals, both adults and minors, with a visa longer than 3 months, must carry a foreigner’s identity card. Therefore, you must also have this requirement, which you can send along with your visa.
  • Remember that these procedures take time. Apply for your visa well in advance to avoid any problems with payment and registration of your tuition.

If you would like to know more about the visa process in Colombia, you can consult the following Ministry of Foreign Affairs website: http://www.cancilleria.gov.co/tramites_servicios/visa

If you have any questions about the visa process, please contact us at 3394949 Ext. 2211 – 2298 or extranjerosuniandes@uniandes.edu.co, where we will be happy to assist you.

Financial Aid and excellence incentives

The Universidad de los Andes has established agreements with various financial institutions to structure financing systems for graduate students, with short, medium, and long-term options.

  • Gabriel Vega Lara Educational Fund
  • ICETEX
  • Otras alternativas gestionadas por la Oficina de Apoyo Financiero de la Universidad.

For more information, please visit the Financial Aid Office website of the Universidad de los Andes.

Excellence Incentives

The School of Management offers merit-based tuition discounts for students who have demonstrated outstanding performance during their undergraduate studies. These incentives cover between 20% and 35% of the total tuition of the master’s program, depending on your profile.

  • 35% discount — available to graduates of the School of Management at Uniandes and to international students.
  • 20% discount — available to students from other Uniandes Schools and to students from other universities, both Colombian and international.

These discounts apply to first and second semester tuition payments only. They do not apply to the enrollment confirmation fee or the internship fee.

How to apply. To be considered for an excellence incentive, you’ll need to submit:

  • An application letter answering: “What can I bring to my MIM-CEMS peers, both in Colombia and during the exchange term?”
  • Two recommendation letters from professors, at least one of whom must be a full-time faculty member from the school where you completed your bachelor’s degree.
  • Evidence of extracurricular involvement — student organizations, volunteering, sports, teaching assistantships, or similar — with supporting letters or documentation showing your active participation and results.
