Is more than a degree, it’s a transformative journey. You’ll gain international experience, sharpen your analytical and leadership skills, and join a lifelong community of globally minded peers.
The MIM CEMS unfolds across two academic terms and an international professional experience. You begin at Uniandes, learning the foundations of international management in a complex, uncertain environment and a diverse ecosystem deeply connected to Colombia’s reality — where navigating ambiguity is part of the learning. You then deepen these international management foundations through a term abroad at one of the other 32 universities in the CEMS network, gaining new academic and cultural perspectives. The journey closes with an internship or professional (first job) experience— where you’ll put everything you’ve learned into practice, enriching your international perspective in a professional environment. Students are independently responsible for finding and securing an approved position that meets the program’s standards.
At the heart of the MIM CEMS we have courses that connect theory with the real challenges organizations face today. In Global Strategy and Global Leadership, you’ll not only deepen your knowledge but also meet leaders from organizations through talks with speakers who share their real-world experience firsthand. Complementing them, the Global Strategy Project and the Business Project are applied, consulting-style challenges where international teams tackle a real problem posed by organizations. It’s learning rooted in practice, not just in the classroom.
Skill Seminars are short, hands-on training sessions in practical skills for an international management environment. At Uniandes we’re known for making them genuinely experiential — like Intrapreneurship and Beercrafting — turning skill-building into experiences you won’t forget. Every student also completes our Self Awareness, Growth Mindset, and Salsa Dancing skill seminar, our Self-Leadership Skill Seminar in Term 1: a self-awareness component that lays the foundation for personal development throughout the program.
The program opens with the Block Seminar, an intensive one-week course on an innovative management topic — the perfect start to build class identity and your international network with the CEMS students on campus that semester. At Uniandes, we focus ours on personal development and sustainable development. Complementing it, the Global Citizenship Seminar is an experiential module built around the UN Sustainable Development Goals, connecting management education with global responsibility.
You’ll also choose from a portfolio of elective courses to shape your own path — and it’s within these electives that you’ll take your Data Analytics courses, building the technological awareness and analytical skills to contribute to data-informed decisions and communicate them convincingly to diverse stakeholders. At Uniandes, you can also count a course in a language other than your mother tongue and English as a three-credit elective.
